Everyday we are faced with challenges to remain healthy. It’s raining today so I don’t feel like going for a walk or run. That burger tasted good, maybe I’ll get another one. I love those French fries, so I will order the extra-large size and eat it by myself. It’s a warm day, so I’m going to get some ice cream, and it will be an extra-large size cone. These are all challenges I have faced in my life and for many years I have given in to those temptations. But in the years since I have worked hard to overcome them.

Everyone can come up with excuses on why they can’t be concerned for their health. I don’t have enough time to exercise. My family activities don’t allow me to take care of me. My work schedule is terrible, and I can’t be concerned for my health. I don’t have any extra money to join a gym. I don’t like to cook fancy meals that would be healthy. Coming up with reasons why we can’t do something is easy, coming up with reasons to do something is hard!

I had the best reason to change my lifestyle – it would save my life! Because of the Diabetes diagnosis, I was faced with the realization that unless I changed my diet and exercise routine, I would probably not reach my forties. But I did change, and I did reach my forties!

With the proper motivation you can change your lifestyle and start living healthier too. There are a number of easy steps that you can do to get on the path to a healthier you. The first step is wanting to change your lifestyle. For many that is the toughest task to overcome, but once you make that commitment, you are on the way to better health.
